Equi Talk

Equine Experiential Coaching is a unique co-active coaching experience that integrates corporate and life coaching training with horse interaction on the ground to explore and enhance interpersonal skills and relationships, personal intelligences, work performance and leadership potential.
Programmes are facilitated by Sarah Hewitt from Equi-Talk and Hazel Farrer from Hazel Tree Coaching with the objective of facilitating inspiration, intuition and inner wisdom through knowledge and a life changing equine experience.
Equi-talk is a unique experience using horses on the ground in a safe and non-threatening environment to explore and enhance communication, interpersonal skills, EQ and personal well being. It is a subtle yet powerful tool that can be used for self- realisation and reflection, as a measure of effective verbal and non verbal communication and the four cornerstones of interpersonal relationships. Activities are designed to explore leadership and management skills, flexibility, self esteem, conflict resolution, personal boundaries and many more soft skills. All activities take place in arenas with the horses in close proximity
Why Horses
In the herd environment, horses have a strong hierarchy, very similar to that of humans. They are specialists in the field of non-verbal communication where body language clearly displays their intentions. Horses by their very nature are gregarious and would rather be with their peers than alone and similar to humans they have their personalities and attitudes. They will challenge, try to dominate, submit or withdraw, often what works for one horse will not work for another. Interacting with horses on the ground provides an interesting platform for observation, comparison and realisation that… it’s not just about the horse!

The Horse on the logo is Wild Air, an American ‘Morgan’ breed rescue horse that had apparently been damaged or subject to abuse in some way. After being rescued, he worked for a while at ‘The Cowboy School ‘in Pretoria, South Africa however because of his past, he was often inconsistent in his behaviour and temperament and was therefore a safety concern for riding.
However, because he radiated such beauty, spirit and presence, he was transferred to a ranch in Dullstroom, where he now runs free with a wild herd of 30 to 40 horses and despite what he has been through and where he has come from, he has found his home, a space to run with the herd and his freedom to be true to his name – Wild Air
Equine Experiential Coaching
works on the ‘Wild Air’ principles that although we may be ‘damaged’ or limited by our past in some way, we can still discover and radiate our purpose and presence and find our place in the world, our space that feels true and our freedom to be who we are meant to be
